Friends, I’m off to the beach where I plan to swim in the sea and get a bit too much sun and drink a bit too much wine and read lots of books and look at lots of stars and have many deep, late night chats with people I love.
While I’m gone, I hope you’ll consider signing up for the Vote Save America book club starting this Wednesday! We’re reading This Is the Plan by superstar organizer and former chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, Ben Wikler, and he’s going to join us for session 3 for a little Q&A. If you need some inspiration, check out this paragraph from the introduction:
It might sound exhausting at first blush. But if enough of us get involved and add what little we can - if, say, millions of people take action, even just for a few hours a month 0 it’s enough to move mountains.
And here’s the thing: Taking action feels good.
Becoming part of something greater than yourself - living in service to your highest ideals - doesn’t just make you a hero. It also generates exuberance. Collective action fosters collective joy. Doing your part to defend democracy requires rebuilding community, connecting with people whom you would never have otherwise met, finding common cause with people whose paths you’d never have otherwise crossed. '
Let that settle into your soul, let it inspire you to pick up the book, to take action, to fight for your community and for democracy, in these midterms and every day. And come hang out at book club! We’ve really nailed the collective action fostering collective joy at VSA, and we’d love to have you.
In the meantime, I’ll see you back here soon.

I don’t know if he didn’t want it, or some other view prevailed, but why isn’t Ben Winkler not in charge of the DNC?
Actually my dream team would be Winkler&Pete Buttigieg. I can see they’re both white men&certainly other voices should be included.
