This is my first time to visit your Substack. I appreciate the upbeat and practical nature of your post. I’ve already restacked it to my Substack. Thank you!

I turned off notifications on my phone the morning after the 2024 election. It is such a good idea.

Pro tip: before doing #16, take some time (a day, several days, a week) to unsubscribe from those extra email lists you've landed on:

*political people (I bet there are only a few you really want to hear from regularly)

*various political/advocacy groups (there's probably a lot of message duplication, so unsubscribe to minimize the repetition)

*journalism/analysis notifications from your Substack or other platform subscriptions (obviously, stay subscribed to Sara, but how many of those others do you actually read?)

*(edited to add) any vendors or businesses that lured you with the promise of occasional discounts that you never actually use

*personally, I unsubscribe from any list that uses James Carville as a messenger 😁

So yeah, Marie Kondo the shit out of your email inbox before adding anything. My email is so much easier to deal with these days!
